Special Instructions for Tied Fleece Blankets
If not done properly these blankets may become unusable for Project Linus. Always remember it is quality not quantity that matters. Here are a few guidelines for making cuddly, long lasting fleece blankets:
- Double layer, tied fleece blankets make the nicest, longest lasting blankets. It requires two layers of fleece but the extra material and work will add durability to the blanket. Single layer blankets tend to “bowl” up over time when the knots get too tight making the blanket unusable.
- Use at least 1 1/4 yards (1 1/2 yards is even better) for top & bottom per blanket if you are making blankets for older children (5-10 yrs old).
- One yard of print fleece and one yard of solid fleece will make a dual layer 36x36 blanket - perfect for babies .Pre-Cut Project Packs are available at www.fleecelady.com. During check out indicate the materials are for Project Linus and they will apply a discount.
