Give a Day, Get a Day
Disney wants to inspire one million people to volunteer a day of service to a participating organization in their communities. So we're celebrating these volunteers' good works by giving each of them a 1-day, 1-theme park ticket to the Disneyland® Resort or Walt Disney World® Resort, free. There's no better time to make a dream come true for others and let us make a few come true for you.
Project Linus is honored to have been selected to participate in this amazing program. Click on the link below to register - get tickets to the park and the great feeling of knowing your good deeds will make an incredible difference in the life of a child.
"Give a Day, Get a Day"
One of my Volunteers wrote me this wonderful letter:
I took my daughter for our "free day" at the Magic Kingdom this past weekend. My husband could not go due to work, so we donated his ticket to the Boys and Girls' Club.
I can't tell you what a trip of a lifetime it turned out to be! When you take your voucher to the Will Call for your free ticket, they give you a "Volunt"ear" Button. Once you're in the park, the employees all make a big deal when they see that button -
They congratulate you, and thank you, and ask about what project you did. They make you feel so special and appreciated. I must have told a dozen different people all about Project Linus and how to get to the website ;)
In our case, a Disney ambassador invited us to ride in the Volunteer Parade which leads-off the 3:00 character parade - It was unbelieveable! (Stuff like that never happens to me!) There were 2 cars of volunteers and then Kermit and Miss Piggy followed on a float. There was another family there from Chicago who also did Project Linus blankets - I think a family of 5 who rode in another vehicle.
After our part of the parade was done, they led us to a special parade viewing area - just like front row seats!
I know the Adelman family also went to Disney this week. When park employees saw their Voluntear buttons, they were in line at a restaurant in the Magic Kingdom -
They pulled them out of line and said because they were volunteers, they had a Magic Moment for them -
They put them at a special dining table w/balloons and confetti, and paid for their lunch -
It was a very special time for them!
Thank you again for helping us have such a memorable trip that we will never forget~
